When the direct TV contract expired ESPN wanted to take over Sunday Ticket and make it $70 a season and even less for a single team package. NFL went with RUclips and made the package even more expensive than before. That's part of the story.

It seems to me that this was planned even before AP was hired. Harris wanted Shin to do what he did and transition it in just this way. Probably discussions on bringing Sosna happening way back when or before Newmark came. They needed to get the ship turned and get through the draft, and the transition in the off season July down time makes sense. Just a guess.

I’ve been saying that the 49ers have no leverage. They lost that during the draft to get a better return via trade . Teams already know that 49ers will not or may not have the revenue to resign Aiyuk . so teams can wait until next years free agency to sign him so the value isn’t high or on the side of up & up with the 49ers . So it’s not going to be a high draft pick for him plus teams have to pay him a new contract so they don’t have to trade for him at all & can wait & not loose picks. But I’m thinking Washington will out but the next bitter & willing to give home big money

We went through the whole Andrew Luck debacle with Colts, and while that was front office accusations, its never good to allow players (and their agents?) to get in the middle of negotiations between players and their current team. Would we like Dallas doing this with Allen or McLaurin?

We are barely into our "build", he is too expensive to get this early. We need to find stud wide receivers in the draft. We have an advantage by having an expensive quarterback. Let's spread the money around to get strengths everywhere.
